Wheel Throwing for all Levels
with SEAN EVANS
In this class, beginners will learn the basics of wheel
throwing, centering clay, throwing a variety of shapes,
firing and glazing. For intermediate students, this class
will focus on throwing more complex forms and surface decorating.

Creative Wheel Throwing for all Levels
with MAN HUE DUONG
This is course will support and encourage all levels to establish
and improve throwing skills. Focus will be on practicing throwing
techniques, as well as altering the form and addressing the surface
with texture to enhance the form.
Day 1 Demonstration on throwing techniques and
individual throwing support. (Make 2-3 pieces)
Day 2 Wheel time (make 2-3 more pieces).
Trim and clean up previous work. Surface demonstration
Day 3 Trim and clean up previous work. Complete Surface and Critique.
Day 4 Glaze and Potluck!

Ikebana is the Japanese art of floral arrangements. Explore slab and pinch
methods of construction that will focus on forms that will enhance the art
of ikebana. ag
3 week series
Day 1 During this first day we will explore the art and history of Ikebana.
Instruction on slab and pinch methods of construction. We will create 2-3 pieces.
Day 2 Workday. Create 2-3 more pieces as well as glazing previous pieces.
Day 3 Glazing pieces made on day two and creating our own ikebana arrangements
from day 1

Open Figure Drawing
with 4 ELEMENTS ARTISTS
These Open Figure Drawing sessions focus on short poses, gesture
drawing, with emphasis on form through light and shadow.
Participants will be drawing from a live model. Bring your own supplies.
4 Elements Studio will provide easels.

Figurative Sculpture Course
with MARIA CAVO-MRZLIKAR
Students will have the opportunity to express their ideas of the human
landscape, learn the foundations of anatomical gesture and form,
and also be given the opportunity to discuss their work with the
instructor and other class members.

Pattern Design Workshop
with ELOISA GOBBO
This workshop is tailored for those who wants to use traditional tools
such as paper, pencil and colors and for those who desire to use computer
laptop or iPad for their drawing. This is a beginner-advanced level course,
participants who want to use digital technology need the following skills
to be successful in the workshop: basic working knowledge of
Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Draw.
Open to ages 15 and up.
Materials that students need to bring:
Traditional method: paper, compass, ruler and a set of different colors.
Digital technology: participants must bring their own laptops with
Adobe Photoshop installed to participate in this course.
Adobe offers a free 30-day trial of Photoshop.
IPad participants can download Adobe Draw for free.

Young artists from 6-12 will be introduced to the basic pinch, wheel
throwing, coil and slab hand building techniques, through projects
designed to stimulate creativity in a playful way. The emphasis is on
fun, while experimenting with the tactile and plastic qualities of clay.
